Why I chose to make to explore this issue

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted all of our lives in an unprecedented way and life has never been so different. This is the same story across all walks of life including sport, which has perhaps gone under the spotlight with the focus predominantly on business, the economy and the pandemic itself with the majority of news outlets.
However, there are untold stories in a sport that deserves to be addressed. Just because it's a sport it shouldn't be seen as inferior. Sport, and in particular football, means so much to so many people. I am focusing on football because no sport in the UK has quite the impact the beautiful game does. Clubs are the hubs of communities, matches are the escapism from the perils of life and generally a time for fans to unite and spend time with their friends and family. Now that is gone and so could many clubs with it. No business can survive if it's the main source of income, matchday sales from fans in this instance, are prohibited.
This blog is looking at those stories. The tale of Poole Town changing their historic strip to that of their sponsor Blackgold provided me with some inspiration. An example of the many stories not being told which this project will change. Usually, this might cause outrage but in these times it was widely accepted - of who I will speak with.
I want to talk to football economists about the survival of clubs with many downtrodden predictions stating there could be many more clubs to join Bury and Macclesfield in being folded without adequate support. And also to hear from football clubs themselves on what they're doing and whether really they can survive.
Prior to lockdown two in the UK this project would act as support for the #LetFansIn campaign, which is ultimately the reason behind this project to bring about real change for a cause close to me.
